Candle Care Guide
1. First Burn Matters
Allow your candle to burn until the wax melts evenly across the top (2–4 hours).
This sets the wax “memory,” preventing tunneling and helping your candle last longer.
Tip: Avoid extinguishing too soon on the first burn — uneven wax memory can cause poor melt pools later.

2. Trim the Wick
Always trim the wick to ¼ inch (6 mm) before lighting.
Trimming prevents mushrooming (the buildup of carbon on the wick tip), reduces soot, and ensures a calm, even flame.
Maintenance Between Burns
After each burn:
-
Let candle cool
-
Pinch or cut off any carbon ball (mushroom tip)
-
Re-trim wick to ¼″ before relighting
If mushrooming occurs, blow out the candle, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.
Tip 1: A small, steady flame means your candle is burning cleanly and efficiently.
Tip 2: Turn container upside down then trim, this will prevent debris from the wick falling into the wax.
Tip 3: Use wick trimmers or nail clippers for a precise cut .

3. Burn Time
Burn for no more than 3-4 hours at a time.
Allow the candle to cool for at least 2 hours and repeat section 2 before relighting to preserve scent quality and wick.
Tip: A Note on Wax & Wick Behavior
Because our candles are made from a natural Apricot & Coconut, you may notice a small amount of wax remaining on the sides of the jar after burning, this is completely normal and helps your candle burn longer and more safely.
If the flame becomes small or seems to “drown,” it’s simply due to melted wax saturating the wick.
Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool fully, trim the wick to ¼ inch, and relight — it will return to a clean, even burn.

4. Keep It Clean
Keep the wax pool free of debris such as wick trimmings, matches, or dust.
Always place candles on a heat-resistant, stable surface, away from vents or fans.
Tip: Drafts can cause uneven burning, tunneling, and black soot around the rim.

5. Safety First
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Always wait for the jar to cool before moving it, as hot wax and glass can cause burns or spills
Keep away from drafts, fans, pets, and little hands.
Stop burning when ½ inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains — this protects the vessel from overheating or cracking.
Tip: Once your candle is finished, clean out the jar with warm soapy water and reuse it for plants, storage, or décor.
